Your responsibilities The responsibilities of the Front End Developer is to:
Contribute to definition of requirements for projects. Design technical solutions and write technical specifications. Develop and maintain front-end applications, libraries and supporting frameworks. Support other teams and fellow developers in specific areas. Pro-actively suggest and implement improvements.
Through this position, you have the opportunity to play a key role in a team of motivated Java/XML developers within an ever-changing international company.
This includes the following activities:
Front-end applications and web services
Investigate feasibility of requirements and estimate impact and effort. Conduct technical design and write technical specifications in XML. Develop and maintain front-end applications (Java and XML). Improve existing front-end applications, for example by porting them to a web service-based approach. Write and maintain formal specifications for web services based on XINS, our internal development framework. Write technical documentation. Participate in the further development of the XINS web services framework (open source). Pro-actively suggest improvements regarding productivity, architecture, working methods, specifications, code quality, etc..
Operational activities:
Support the Interaction Design Team (ID Team) in writing XSLT, javascript and Ajax. Participate in the packaging and delivering of software deliverables. Research (potential) problems with applications deployed in a production environment by analyzing and combining information from different sources, like access logs, application logs, etc..
Your profile Education:
HBO or University technical degree or significant work experience.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a software developer in a similar position, preferably within ISP or Telco.
Technical and/or Management Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge/experience with object orientation, Java, XML and web services. Good knowledge/experience with source code versioning systems and applications frameworks. Experienced with UNIX/Linux systems and commands. Knowledge and experience of standard web development such as HTML, CSS, javascript and, ideally, Ajax. Familiarity with code profiling and unit testing methods preferred. Prior exposure to XSLT is a benefit.

Analytical. Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Result-oriented and thorough, hands-on, pragmatic (knows how to get things done). Enthusiastic, communicative and positive. Ability to learn and work without supervision. English (work language).
