Летим, увидев впереди неясный свет. Летим, не зная, долетим, иль нет. Летим, не думая о том, что позади. Летим, не ведая того, что впереди. Летим, стремясь попасть скорее к цели, Летим, хоть те, кто долетел, не уцелели.
Потом замрём, опомнившись, в конце пути, Потом поймём, что некуда уже идти, Потом прозрев, увидим впереди провал, Потом забьётся судорожно мысль: "Пропал!", Потом сочтём грехи перед людьми и Богом, Потом опомнимся, что шли не той дорогой.
А что сейчас? Опять воззванья. А что сейчас? Опять восстанье. А что сейчас? Опять шумит народ. А что сейчас? Опять зовут вперёд. А что сейчас? Опять сердца пылают. А что потом? То, Бог один лишь знает.
